Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced industrial painter to join our fast-paced Innovative Finishing team. This position requires knowledge in all aspects of the painting process, wash, prep and paint application. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail oriented with washing/prep, spraying paint to cover multiple angles on parts, and inspection of items after wash and paint.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Loading/unloading parts
• Pressure washing
• Prep material for painting (sanding, masking, etc)
• Following prints to spec
• Follow mixing instructions as provided by the paint PDS sheet
• Spraying paint to cover multiple angles
• Take readings of wet/dry paint mils
• Inspecting parts before and after painting
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
• Handle and dispose of all hazardous waste according to safety guidelines
• Perform maintenance on equipment to keep in great working condition
• Additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• Regular and prompt attendance
• High school or equivalent is preferred
• US work authorization is required
• Previous experience in washing/painting is a plus
• Experience with a pressure fed 2.8-gallon pressure pot
• Experience with a gravity fed quart cup
• Able to wear a half mask chemical respirator
• Wearing proper PPE for wash/prepping/painting
• Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, dust, etc.), lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Demonstrate ability to work independently while also able to work in a team setting
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools
• Ability to operate a forklift or willing to learn to operate a forklift
• Hours of operation Mon-Fri (8-430) with possibility of overtime
Work Environment
• This is a working manufacturing and production facility. As such this is a hot, dusty, loud area, and there are always moving parts. Caution and attention to your surroundings need to always be at the front of your mind as safety always starts with you.
• Primarily office-based with frequent engagement across departments and production teams
Travel
• May require occasional travel (<10%) for training, recruiting, or compliance functions
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Talk and hear to communicate with others. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
